Over the summer, Kara and I went to Barbados for her cousin Corey's wedding. This was only a few weeks after the Proposal, so it was perfect timing for us to celebrate with her family! Kara's father is from Barbados, and I am really glad I was able to meet the Lynch Family over the weekend! Here are some were my favorite pictures from the trip!
Over Memorial Day weekend Kara and I wanted to explore California so we decided to take a trip to Palm Springs. Normally, Kara does most of the planning on our weekend trips, but this time I wanted to plan the trip as I had something special in the works! To make it not so obvious that I was up to something, I asked Kara if she would help me with pick a place for us to stay, and I would plan the rest! We ended up staying at the Old Ranch Inn which turned out to be a really nice Bed & Breakfast where I called to have them arrange for some flowers and wine in our room for when we arrived.
The next day we woke up around 7am and went to the College of the Desert Street Fair where we found a new painting for our kitchen! After the street fair we made two more quick stops at a Farmer's Market and Jensen's to pick up some snacks for a picnic. We finally ended up at the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway for our 10am ride up the 8,000 ft mountain where we hiked before finding a place to sit down and have a nice picnic lunch.
Finding some grass by a little creek, I laid out a blanket and we enjoyed some white wine and crackers. As we were sitting on the blanket, I got up and placed my camerna on the ground about 10 feet away. I told Kara I was trying to take pictured of us having lunch, but I was really setting up the camera to capture video of the proposal!
After Kara said "YES!!" we were both so excited and wanted to call our familes to share the news! We soon relaized how difficult it was to get cell phone service on top of a mountain but finally was able to get through! Kara didn't know that when I was in New York a few months ago, I had stopped at her parents house to ask for Kara's hand in marriage!!
It was such a special day and happy I can share it (finally) with you!
Here are some of my favorite pictures captured during our hike.

Last night I attended an advanced screening for Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol in Los Angeles.
In the film, Tom Cruise (Ethan Hunt) and the IMF get shut down after being framed for an incident in the Kremlin, causing Ethan and his new team to go into ghost protocol and against all odds to stop a Nuclear War.
This movie delivered on action, special effects and an overall well written script. Brad Bird did a great job in directing and big ups to Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner and Paula Patton on all strong performances.
For the car enthusiasts out there, I think you will really enjoy the BMW i8 which was recently revealed at the LA Auto Show and officially ranks at the top of my Christmas list this year! (hint, hint)
You can watch the trailer below and make sure to go watch Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol when it hits IMAX and theaters this Friday and nationwide on December 21st.

Kara and I got invited to attend the Jay-Z and Kanye West concert at the Staples Center last week. I have seen both Jay and Kanye perform a handful of times when I was rolling around as Diddy's assistant, but I have to say the energy they both put out made this show straight CRAY. Rumors have it they are already putting together a Watch the Throne Follow Up, so if you missed the show this go around, I recommend copping those tickets stat.

October is National Breast Cancer Awereness month, and to show their support HUDSON Jeans has made a pledge to donate $5 for every pair of jeans sold to the The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. To help spread the news, HUDSON has teamed up with some of their favorite blogger friends to ask them to make a pledge and share the news with their readers.

The Breast Cancer Research Foundation® was founded in 1993 by Evelyn H. Lauder as an independent, not-for-profit organization, dedicated to funding innovative clinical and translational research. In October 2011, BCRF will award $36.5 million to 186 scientists across the United States, Canada, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Australia and China. Currently, more than 90 cents of every dollar donated is directed to breast cancer research and awareness programs. With exceptionally low administrative costs, BCRF continues to be one of the most efficient organizations in the country and is designated an “A+” charity by The American Institute of Philanthropy, the only cancer organization to achieve this. For more information about BCRF, visit www.bcrfcure.org.

These shots were captured during a recent weekend trip in Santa Barbara, CA. On our last day I woke up around 9AM and headed out to the beach where I was amazed at how peaceful the saliboats appeared in the morning fog. By noon the fog had passed and Kara and I ended up having a very nice lunch at the Marina.

This past weekend I met up with the modman for a very industrial photoshoot. I wanted to show how a man can be rough and rugged while not being afraid to show off his feminine side with the beautiful Australian South Sea Pearl drop necklace by Kailis. In 2011 you will continue to see men rocking new and vintage pieces from their mom's and girlfriend's closets and start a new trend called "the girlfriend".
More love goes out to CROW Watches for sending me their BFW watch. I love the signature silicon lightweight band along with the oversized rectangular face and numbers.
Finally, I must send a shout-out to one of my clients, HUDSON for always outfitting me with some sick denim.
Stay Vicarious my friends.

This past weekend I attended the Sundance Film Festival to work the CAVI booth in the House of SWAGG at the Samsung Galaxy Tab Lift. CAVI Creative Director, Garth Cabral was also in the house where we had a blast gifting celebs, including Terrell Owens, Rick Fox, Paul Rudd, Scott Wolf, Kiptyn Locke, Lil Jon, Mario Lopez, Jesse Williams and John Salley. Others started coming by our booth telling us they noticed everyone wearing the gear and wanted a piece of the action! Some of the hottest CAVI items included their flannel shirts, tuxedo blazer, wool military jacket, and the bubbler puffer jacket designed exclusively for Sundance.
At night we hit up TAO, where Patron was being poured like water into the early morning.
Check out some pictures I captured and then head over to the CAVI Facebook page to see who else was rockin’ CAVI over the weekend.
Much love to all the new friends I met and thank you for the fuzzy memories! You know what they say... what happens at Sundance, stays at Sundance...

After my Life's a Beach week in Fort Myers, I headed down to Orlando for New Years and the Capital One Bowl game.
Some images I took at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin, which is a great resort near Epcot Center.
For New Years, we headed down to Universal CityWalk to bar hop and catch an epic Brett Michaels performance.
During New Years Day we headed to the Organge Bowl to check out MSU play in the Capital One Bowl.

I recently was at a breakfast with a very influential blogger who said she didn't get personal style bloggers. It was hard for her to grasp why anyone would want to post pictures of themselves everyday to the internet ...
Well I must admit that is silly, which is why I only post a few times a week :-)
If you want fashion industry news, I suggest going over to Fashionista.
If you want national shopping news, I suggest going over to Racked.

I guess it's safe to say, winter is finally here! Growing up in Michigan, I have no shortage of coats in my closet to select from, however for today I wanted to rock my recently gifted CAVI* Military Wool Jacket. I decided to pair it with a CAVI blue and brown plaid shirt and my daily staple, HUDSON* Jeans.
I love the attention to detail on CAVI clothing and am loving the new direction the line is taking For those who aren't up yet on HUDSON Jeans, I strongly urge you to give them a try as I have never had a pair of jeans that fit so good, which is why I wear them every day. :)

Last weekend I headed to L.A. to shoot a Ustream event with Rue La La and Whitney Port for her collection, Whitney Eve available now on Rue La La. I was only in town for a day, so I only packing was pretty simple with some of my favorite and most comfortable pieces. For the day I wore a white v-neck tee with a pair of white Stan Smiths, and switched into a white Dolce & Gabbana cashmere sweater with a pair of HUDSON jeans and Nike Dunks.
For those that missed it, you can catch the live chat with Whitney Port here:
