Watch the Throne Concert with Jay-Z and Kanye West

By jamesda1 · December 14, 2011 · 0 Comments

Kara and I got invited to attend the Jay-Z and Kanye West concert at the Staples Center last week. I have seen both Jay and Kanye perform a handful of times when I was rolling around as Diddy's assistant, but I have to say the energy they both put out made this show straight CRAY.  Rumors have it they are already putting together a Watch the Throne Follow Up, so if you missed the show this go around, I recommend copping those tickets stat.

Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol

By jamesda1 · December 15, 2011 · 0 Comments

Last night I attended an advanced screening for Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol in Los Angeles.

In the film, Tom Cruise (Ethan Hunt) and the IMF get shut down after being framed for an incident in the Kremlin, causing Ethan and his new team to go into ghost protocol and against all odds to stop a Nuclear War.

This movie delivered on action, special effects and an overall well written script. Brad Bird did a great job in directing and big ups to Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner and Paula Patton on all strong performances.

For the car enthusiasts out there, I think you will really enjoy the BMW i8 which was recently revealed at the LA Auto Show and officially ranks at the top of my Christmas list this year! (hint, hint)

You can watch the trailer below and make sure to go watch Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol when it hits IMAX and theaters this Friday and nationwide on December 21st.

CAVI Weekend at Sundance Film Festival

By jamesda1 · January 25, 2011 · 0 Comments

This past weekend I attended the Sundance Film Festival to work the CAVI booth in the House of SWAGG at the Samsung Galaxy Tab Lift. CAVI Creative Director, Garth Cabral was also in the house where we had a blast gifting celebs, including Terrell Owens, Rick Fox, Paul Rudd, Scott Wolf, Kiptyn Locke, Lil Jon, Mario Lopez, Jesse Williams and John Salley. Others started coming by our booth telling us they noticed everyone wearing the gear and wanted a piece of the action!  Some of the hottest CAVI items included their flannel shirts, tuxedo blazer, wool military jacket, and the bubbler puffer jacket designed exclusively for Sundance.

At night we hit up TAO, where Patron was being poured like water into the early morning.

Check out some pictures I captured and then head over to the CAVI Facebook page to see who else was rockin’ CAVI over the weekend.

Much love to all the new friends I met and thank you for the fuzzy memories! You know what they say... what happens at Sundance, stays at Sundance...

For New Years, we headed down to Universal CityWalk to bar hop and catch an epic Brett Michaels performance.

During New Years Day we headed to the Organge Bowl to check out MSU play in the Capital One Bowl.

Last Call - Trip to Jamaica

By jamesda1 · August 16, 2010 · 0 Comments

On our last day in Jamaica, we decided to take a trip into Negril to check out the world famous Ricks Cafe and catch a beautiful Caribbean sunset.  I wish I had more time in paradise but like all good things, this trip too has to come to an end.

Until next time....

Relaxation! Trip to Jamaica - Day.... (lost track)

By jamesda1 · August 10, 2010 · 0 Comments

This trip has been amazing thus far! During day 3 we played some beach volleyball, had an hour long massage on the beach, enjoyed the lazy river on the resort and become locals at the swim up bar at the pool. Last night, Kara and I played in the Ideal Couples game, where we went against three other couples in a dance off.  For someone who can't dance, namely myself, we did a great job taking second place!

After spending a few days on the resort, we decided to take a guided tour, so we signed up for the Cool Runnings Dunn's River Fun Cruise! Our tour started out going to Crystal Cove for snorkeling over a coral reef, and then proceeded to Dunn's River Falls for an adventurous trip up the waterfall! It was great fun and I would reccomend it to anyone who comes to Jamaica!

Here are some more pictures from the trip:

Time for Discovery - Day 2 in Jamaica

By jamesda1 · August 9, 2010 · 0 Comments

Today was our first full day in Jamaica, and as such wanted to discover more about what the resort had to offer.  Waking up at a respectful 10:00 AM we decided to head to to the main buffet for breakfast.  The food was delicious and I enjoyed a ham and cheese omelet with french toast and fruit.

After breakfast, my girlfriend and I headed over to the water sports center where we grabbed some snorkeling gear and hit the water.  I didn't find Nemo, but we did see some friendly fish who followed us everywhere we went!  After we returned our snorkeling equipment, we walked off the resort to some shops that were on the beach.  All the vendors were happy to see us and asked us all to check out their shops, which contained beautiful hand carved wood masks, sculptures and paintings.

During lunchtime the resort offered a BBQ on the beach. The food was delicious and I ended up having jerk chicken, rice and beans and some fresh fruit.  After a long day on the beach we decided we needed some self indulgence, so we decided to check out the spa.   The spa was amazing, offering a large hot tub and saunas with hot or cold baths.  We decided that we needed to more self indulgence, so we made a reservation for the following day for massages on the beach.
