rough & rugged featuring the girlfriend trend for 2011

By jamesda1 · February 28, 2011 · 0 Comments

This past weekend I met up with the modman for a very industrial photoshoot. I wanted to show how a man can be rough and rugged while not being afraid to show off his feminine side with the beautiful Australian South Sea Pearl drop necklace by Kailis. In 2011 you will continue to see men rocking new and vintage pieces from their mom's and girlfriend's closets and start a new trend called "the girlfriend".

More love goes out to CROW Watches for sending me their BFW watch.  I love the signature silicon lightweight band along with the oversized rectangular face and numbers.

Finally, I must send a shout-out to one of my clients, HUDSON for always outfitting me with some sick denim.

Stay Vicarious my friends.

New York Fashion Week Coverage: Perry Ellis Spring 2011 Collection

By jamesda1 · September 16, 2010 · 0 Comments

During New York Fashion Week one of the shows I attended was the Perry Ellie Spring 2011 collection runway show at Lincoln Center, the new home of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.  The show was amazing and showcased Perry Ellis's sporty heritage comprsing of tailored jackets, sweaters and shorts.  I loved so many of the looks, but my favorite is a black and white v-neck sweater shown below.

For fans who could not attend the Perry Ellis show, a livestream was broadcasted on PerryEllis.com and Facebook.com/PerryEllis.

Men's Colonge for The Vicarious LifeStyle

By jamesda1 · July 31, 2010 · 0 Comments

When selecting the cologne you are going to wear for the day, take the extra time to ensure the aroma compliments your look.

If you are running around to meetings, try Giorgio Armani ACQUA DI GIO or Sean John Unforgivable which will keep you smelling fresh throughout the day. Apply to your entire body directly after the shower and let air dry.

For nighttime events or cocktail parties, try Dolce & Gabbana the one or Gucci by Gucci which offer a stronger more masculine smell and will help you stand out in the crowd. Apply to your entire body and rub into your neck and wrists.

Cologne does not react to everyone’s skin the same, so make sure to smell it both as it comes out the bottle, but also when it is dry on your skin.

Tell me, what are your favorite colognes to wear?

Fashion Tips for Men - Accessories on a Budget for Summer 2010

By jamesda1 · July 7, 2010 · 0 Comments

Most men are intimidated by fashion.  They don't know if they should start with a fresh pair of shoes and build their outfit up, or start with a crisp shirt and work their way down.  For me it doesn't matter where I start when picking out my outfit, as long as I finish with the perfect accessories.

This summer it's all about color to compliment your look. I like to wear affordable pieces that rotate depending on my outfit for the day. You can find many affordable watches, necklaces, wallets, socks and even scarves to give your basic outfit a much needed boost. Check out some of my favorite affordable summer accessories below!

Rowdy in the Streets of Georgetown

By jamesda1 · July 5, 2010 · 0 Comments

To kick off the 4th of July my girlfriend and I went into Georgetown and had lunch at Tony and Joe's, a nice seafood restaurant on the waterfront.  After lunch, we walk around town and ended the day taking out a kayak on the Potomac River.  I was wearing a Rowdy t-shirt, Sean John shorts and Supra shoes.

Trip to the Bronx Zoo with vengeful minds

By jamesda1 · June 12, 2010 · 0 Comments

Looking back on my childhood, there are few memories that were more enjoyable then when my parents would take me to the Zoo.  So naturally when my girlfriend asked if I wanted to go this weekend, I was more than thrilled for the chance to act like a kid (not that I really need a reason) and see the Bronx Zoo for the first time!

Thinking about my outfit, I decided it was the perfect time to wear the elephant v neck my friends over at vengeful minds sent me last week.  This 100% organic cotton tee was so comfortable and was the perfecrt shirt for a warm spring day.  I paired it with some Abercrombie & Fitch cargos and my newly acquired Birkenstock sandels.  Check out some of my farvorie pictures from the afternoon, and enjoy the full album on my Facebook page.

Amazingly soft American Apparel Cookie Monster t-shirt

By jamesda1 · May 29, 2010 · 1 Comment

Loving this American Apparel t-shirt from their spring/summer Seasme Street collection.  The shirt is a mix of Poly-Cotton making it very soft and lightweight, perfect for the summer.  I paired it with my favorite HUDSON straight leg jeans, which are also amazingly soft.  For accessories, I wore Gucci dog tags, Christian Audigier watch and Nike Dunks.

Jeans - HUDSON

Necklace - Gucci

Shirt - American Apparel

Shoes - Nike

This is my favorite time of the year.  It is still cool enough were you can wear a lightweight sweater, yet warm enough to wear shorts. So today I was decided to mix some spring with summer, with a Banana Republic sweater, seersucker Sean John shorts and some Chuck Taylors.

Necklace - Gucci

Shoes - Chuck Taylors

Shorts - Sean John

Sweater - Banana Republic

Watch - Movado
